Camping Season!

I made my first camping trip of the year this last weekend and brought along a number of Minimus products to field test.

First off, I was quite impressed by how much weight and room I saved by bringing travel sized toiletries along. My camp site was a short hike in, just a hundred yards or so, but it was easy to see how convenient it will be the next time I make a serious hike into back country. My load was noticibly lighter and more comfortable.

The travel size toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, floss, shaving cream, deodorant, soap and sunblock all saw use over the weekend and I was glad to have them in such convenient sizes. Food is a big part of any camp out and the portable salad dressings, hot sauce, pancake syrup (yummy), soy sauce, ketchup and other condiments were all welcome additions around camp and their smaller sizes made for more room in my bags.

Following a suggestion from one of our customers I brought along some of our squeezer's peanut butter and jelly to make sandwiches, what a great idea! I was glad to avoid using the poncho I brought along to test (it keeps raining almost every weekend here in Southern California) but had it rained I would have been happy to have it.

I hope your camping trips this year are as fun as mine and if you've got any suggestions please pass them along, we'd love to hear them here at minimus!

Celebrate National Barbecue Month

Did you know that here in the U.S. May is National Barbecue month? Personally, I feel like any time is a good time to cook out and I've even been known to do some grilling in a steady downpour. Then there was that time I cooked bratwurst and burgers in the parking lot of Lambeau field in a December blizzard but, that's a story for another time. The point is, I love to cook out and so do most of you. In fact, three quarters of American homes have an outdoor grill of some sort. In 1982 the people that make all of those grills got together and decided to acknowledge the month of May, since it is the month that kicks off the busy grilling season. Summer means longer days and warmer weather and here at Minimus will be some barbecueing of our own. To celebrate we are putting all of our barbecue sauces and our Condiment Combo Kit on sale through the month of May.

We carry a variety of delicious barbecue sauces in convenient travel sizes so you can take your favorites with you when you go camping or make your next cookout to go. If the next grilling session is at your place, why not offer a variety of sauces for your guests to choose from? They are sure to love it.

Our Condiment Combo Kit has everything you need for picnics and barbecues on the go; 2 ketchup packets, 2 mustard packets, 2 salt and 2 pepper packets, 1 relish packet, 1 mayonnaise packet, 1 chopped onion packet, a moist towelette, napkin and plastic fork, knife and spoon. Our Condiment Combo Kit makes it easy to grill out in the park, on a camping trip or at your next tail gate party. We hope you have as much fun cooking out this summer as we will!

Wheat and Gluten Free Soy Sauce

For a while now we have been receiving requests for a Soy Sauce that is wheat free and gluten free in travel size packets. We searched high and low for one and are pleased to announce we finally found it. Kari-Out wheat free, gluten free Soy Sauce can now be ordered on the Minimus website.

We have also been working on the Minimus site to make it easier to find products that are wheat and gluten free. Many of our customers have told us they are on wheat and gluten free diets and, that they appreciate all of the products we carry that they are able to use. We are working to make the site searchable by keywords like: wheat free, gluten free and so on, so that those products are easy to find. We will also be working with an expert in the field to identify those products that are truly wheat and gluten free and to help us identify new products to further expand our selection. When we are finished and ready to roll the whole thing out, you will hear about it right here first!
